Moving parents in Qatar towards good digital citizenship

Thanks to the energy and pro-activity of our Primary School Deputy Head at Qatar Academy, Kirsten Holland, parents got together this afternoon to discuss and workshop digital citizenship ideas and activities.
Kirsten put together a slideshow, we talked about the need for parents to be out there, joining in and aware of what it means to be online so that they can make informed decisions as to what is best for their children.

So, what did they do? Well some opened their first email account! others joined Facebook for the first time! many joined this Ning! All explored new ideas and online spaces.

Thanks Julie for your wonderful comments. I was so happy after this session to see so much passion and interest from the parents. I hope to continue this forum in a couple of weeks before the end of the school year. What should we work on next?????
